Exo Terra Plantation Soil Bricks are a 100% natural, biodegradable terrarium substrate made from sustainable, ground coconut husk fiber grown on plantations in tropical Asia. The unique hygroscopic properties of this ecological substrate regulate the terrarium's humidity in a natural way and is totally safe for frogs, salamanders and other burrowing or digging animals. Adequate air humidity levels aid in shedding and help prevent respiratory infections. Exo Terra Plantation Soil is triple machine washed to remove any residual salt content, then machine dried and heat-treated to reduce bacterial contamination. The Exo Terra Plantation Soil makes an ideal substrate to create tropical terrarium set-ups for humidity-loving reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. The unique coir pith used for the Exo Terra Plantation Soil consists of a mixture of short fibres and coco-peat grain sizes ranging from coarse granules to fine clumps resulting in improved soil drainage and aeration. The improved aeration of the substrate promotes the cultivation of healthy waste-reducing organisms keeping your terrarium fresh and clean. Let it soak for about 30 minutes until it completely absorbs the water and no clumps remain. Stir the substrate to ensure that no compressed parts remain and that the substrate is ready to use. Spread a 5-10cm layer (2-4") of Exo Terra Plantation Soil on the terrarium floor. Water or mist the substrate according to the humidity level required and use an Exo Terra Hygrometer to monitor the humidity level. Spot clean the bedding on a daily basis, and completely replace with new bedding when necessary.

Not all terrarium conditions allow live plants to grow or thrive. Some areas are too hot or too dry for live plants whereas others might require different light requirements, or simply can be eaten by the reptiles. Exo Terra's artificial plants are exact copies of their natural counterparts and are easier to maintain. These plants offer the same advantages as live plants; decorative, creating hiding spots, enlarge the dwelling area, etc. A combination of live plants and the Exo Terra's artificial plants allows you to fully plant a terrarium, even in the hottest or driest parts.

The Exo Terra Reptile UVB 150, 13W has a very high UVB output similar to that associated with desert environments. Desert locations receive more direct sunlight than any other because of fewer clouds, less air humidity and no plants or trees to provide shade. Therefore desert reptiles are more exposed to UV radiation than any other type of reptile.

Exo Terra Sepia Bones are an excellent calcium source for reptiles and amphibians. The Exo Terra Sepia Bones can be used whole as a supplementary calcium source for terrapins, turtles and tortoises, the rough edible surface helps to trim the beaks of tortoises, turtles and terrapins as well as preventing unwanted chewing behaviour. They float making them ideal for aquatic turtles as well as being suitable for all types of lizards. The Exo Terra Turtle Bank is a unique floatation basking area for aquatic turtles. Exo Terra's Water Dishes have a very natural and realistic rock finish on the outside and a smooth non-pitted surface on the inside. The bowls are coated to prevent the development of harmful bacteria and make it easy to clean. The neutral natural colour allows easy integration in desert, tropical or any type of terrarium. Smaller reptiles, amphibians and insects can easily escape out of the Water Dish by the 'safety steps' inside the bowl to prevent drowning.
